The Naples & Capri Table
The Naples Table can overwhelm even the most seasoned traveler—streets lined with promises, kitchens working at every hour. So we narrowed it down to five addresses.
In Naples, dinner is not a meal but a curtain rising. The tables fill late, never before nine, and what arrives is never fleeting. Plates come substantial, meant to be eaten slowly, as though time itself had been reduced into sauce. Beef cooked down to silk, onions melting into memory, pizzas that could outlast dynasties. Capri adds its own flourish—lemons the size of softballs, fish grilled with the casual perfection of people who have been doing it forever. We learned quickly: eat late, eat slowly, eat with both appetite and patience. It is the only way these dishes reveal themselves.
1. L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele
Where: Via Cesare Sersale, 1, 80139 Napoli NA, Italy
(The original site in Forcella since 1930—its only menu: Margherita or Marinara) (Wikipedia)
Phone / Website: Historical guide doesn’t list—so just trust that fame and pure pizza speak for themselves.
The line never ends. We ordered the Margherita and felt Naples itself served on a plate. Locals whisper “doppia mozzarella” only if you’ve earned the right. IYKYK.
2. 3.0 Ciro Cascella – Modern Pizza Theater
Address: Via San Pasquale, 68, 80121 Napoli NA, Italy (Wanderlog, OpenTable)
Phone: +39 081 497 6322 (Wanderlog, OpenTable)
Website: cirocascella.it (Wanderlog, OpenTable)
The dough fermented so long it nearly introduced itself. Then arrived that massive buffalo mozzarella blob, trembling like a freshly exposed secret. We cut in—and Naples gasped. Tradition flirting with the avant-garde.

3. Buatta – Trattoria di Conversazione
Address: Via Filippo Cifariello, 14, 80129 Napoli NA, Italy (Wanderlog, Restaurant Guru)
Phone: +39 349 605 9176 (Wanderlog, Restaurant Guru)

The best meal in Naples. Pasta alla Genovese—onions collapsed into silk, beef melted into the sauce until it only whispered. Arrive by 7:30 pm for a seat; after 9:00 pm you’re just part of the street crowd. No reservations. No mercy.

4. Bar Il Piccolo – Capri’s Piazzetta Lemon Cloud
Address: Piazza Umberto I, 5/6, Capri, Campania, Italy (Capri, Restaurant Guru)
Phone: +39 081 837 0325 (Capri, Restaurant Guru)
Website: piccolobarcapri.com (Capri, Restaurant Guru)
Climb the funicular, turn left at Prada—there’s a “drawing room of the world.” We ordered the delizia al limone so cold it made the spoon shiver. Socialites and tourists alike, all united in lemony bliss.

5. La Palette – Capri’s Romantic Hillside Secret
Address: Via Matermania, 36, 80073 Capri, Campania, Italy (OpenTable, mindtrip.ai)
Phone: +39 081 837 9235 (OpenTable, mindtrip.ai, facebook.com)

We got lost—and found enchantment. Winding uphill, then suddenly—the sea spilled below. We ordered the grilled fish of the day, a simple salad, house wine. Prices were shockingly modest for Capri. Staff treated us like cousins. Views treated us like royalty.
